ExcellentBased on 1410 reviewsVerifiedLouise2024-09-27Another great stay This was our second stay at the Kelvingrove. There were some new staff, as well as people we saw last year. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a room on the ground floor, facing the front of the hotel (room 2). The room has a noisy toilet which grinds, sometimes even when you hadn't even been in the bathroom. We laughed about it and got used to it. We enjoyed the cooked breakfast every morning, I love potato scones! We enjoy staying at the Kelvingrove and would definitely stay again when we go back to Glasgow. The hotel is handy for the bus into the centre - number 77 to the bus station (the bus we used most often) and the number 3 towards Govan via the city centre. The bus to Govan is handy for visiting the Riverside Museum, which is just across the bridge a short walk away from Govan bus station.Verifiedbtavelli2024-09-22Great location, pretty good place. The room was very clean but quite small, and the bathroom was tiny. The breakfast was just ok, but the service was cheerful, and Joe was outstanding. The strong points were very nice location in the west end, and close proximity to great restaurants, pubs and whiskey bars, not to mention the amazing Kelvingrove Museum.VerifiedSwonzee2024-09-20A fine spot A very friendly and helpful welcome and comfortable, quiet stay for business at this well-located hotel. It had all I needed - from good Wi-Fi to plenty of teas and coffees. The area is perfect for exploring the beautiful west end of Glasgow.VerifiedLilya Z2024-09-03Recommend Super friendly staff, especially manager Joe treated me with extremely welcoming hospitality and patience. Available to book through Airbnb. Nice equipped, tidy and quiet room. WiFi stable. Close to museum and park if visiting as tourists. Close to university of Glasgow if you’re a student looking for a short stay. Would definitely go back again.VerifiedStephen M2024-08-30Fantastic location right in the heart of Glasgow. Fantastic location right in the heart of Glasgow. Joe, our Reception "Guru" greeted us with a friendly welcome and swiftly completed the check-in process within 2 minutes. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Brilliant accessibility to local restaurants and bars - all within walking distance. Fresh cooked breakfast every morning - to start the day. Extra bonus point for Joe - a credit to the Kelvingrove hotelVerifiedMel2024-08-27Overnight stay for daughters graduation Very comfortable bed. Fantastic shower. Receptionist brilliant. Walking distance to Glasgow university where my daughter's graduation was held. Only issue was no reception on TV so could not watch anything. Would definitely recommend.VerifiedElaine T2024-08-26Good for a short stay and near to a lot of places and eateries. A two night stay with a friend, a room each. Bathroom a bit small but room was fine. A good breakfast with gluten free for a coeliac well catered for. Staff very friendly, Joe very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Good for a short stay and I would recommend for this; I would look elsewhere for a longer stay with my husband.Verifiedviviane922024-08-25All right. Very nice hotel in the university district, very British in its design (rooms are on the ground floor, we go down to access). So the room is dark and without view. We were garden side, very quiet. Receptionist very kind. Good breakfast with a choice à la carte provided enough.
ExcellentBased on 580 reviewsAngela Welford2024-09-28Great value, friendly helpful staff, clean room, comfortable beds, perfect location for our less than 24 hours in Glasgow.Tina Thews2024-09-25We stayed for one night while exploring the West End of Glasgow. The hotel is along a main roadway within walking distance of the Kelvingrove museum, park and botanic gardens. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to store our luggage before checking in so that we could walk to various sites unencumbered. The rooms themselves are fairly basic but do come with en-suites. I would honestly give this hotel a better review but for issues with both temperature and noise control. There is no A/C and the night we were there was warm. There was a small fan in the room but it did not work properly so we couldn’t use it. We also had big issues with noise. Kelvingrove Park is almost directly behind the hotel and there was a lot of noise migrating towards the building. Our room was in the back on the bottom floor and, unfortunately, the windows were not noise proof. We were kept awake until near 2 am. There was also a lot of noise from the room above us because the floors are old and very squeaky when walked on. Overall, if you don’t have issues with temperatures and noise, this is a good option that is close to west end sites.Greg Peterson2024-09-22Perfect location for walking to restaurants, pubs, museums, and parks. Breakfast is recommended if you are looking for a Full Scottish, and a quick start to the day. Rooms are clean and charming. Joe is an absolute gem. Many restaurants to choose from , groceries etc. It has it all!Nick Nixxon2024-09-11I have stayed at a few of the hotels in the Finneston area. they are all built into connecting town houses. I think the Kelvingrove hotel isthe nicest one. The rooms are quiet, with comfortable beds and very well maintained The staff is absolutely lovely and very helpful. The breakfast is plentiful and you can order cooked food as well.jacqueline homer2024-09-10Quaint establishment and walking distance to eateries on argyll st and west end.
