Shop Till You Drop

Did you know that Glasgow’s very own Buchanan Street is the UK’s busiest shopping street after Oxford Street in London? No wonder, we’re a city full of shopaholics and proud. No matter if you’re high-end label daft or looking for something a little more unusual, Scotland’s biggest city has it all and what’s more, it’s all within just 20 minutes of our hotel. Take a virtual tour around Glasgow’s shopping hotspots with our guide below.

Buchanan Street

Like we said it’s nationally renowned for its busyness and that’s all down to the huge range of retailers it can lay claim too. With flagship stores like Gap, Paperchase and H&M, if you’re shopping for wardrobe or homeware staples then you’re covered. Expect cutting-edge fashion from the likes of Topshop and Ted Baker or stretch the purse-strings a little with Pretty Green, Michael Kors and the labels on offer in House of Fraser. Buchanan Galleries marks the end of the aptly named Style Mile and you’ll find favourites such as Miss Selfridge, Mango, Boux Avenue and River Island within.

Princes Square Mall

We’re not straying too far away with this one as Glasgow’s top-rated shopping mall sits just toward the end of Buchanan Street. Restaurants and cafes dominate the top and bottom levels of this impressively designed mall that exudes glamour and indulgence. Elsewhere you’ll find Kurt Geiger, Reiss, Jo Malone London, Vivienne Westwood and Space NK to tempt you to spend your pennies.

Great Western Road

Just a short walk from our hotel and you’ll find yourself on one of Glasgow longest roads (3 miles to be exact!). Not only are there artisan cafes and eateries galore but if you’re in the market for something a little special you’ll be spoilt for choice. Locally-loved wholefoods and organic fruit and veg shop, Roots and Fruits, provide a colourful display of tasty treats and you can stock up your shelves with all things healthy while you’re there. The Glasgow Vintage Co is a quaint little store selling ladies and gents clothing from bygone eras while Timorous Beasties is a treasure-trove of exquisite fabrics from around the world – they’re not cheap but they’ll put the finishing touches on any lovingly interior-designed home.

Partick

This one gets a mention for all you furniture-lovers out there. It’s within walking distance of our hotel and is a great way to spend a Saturday. Dumbarton Road is home to a whole host of second-hand furniture huts where you can grab yourself a proper bargain and up-cycle till your heart’s content. Check out the Salvation Army and Emmaus – both are charities so you’ll be doing your purse a favour and helping out those in need.
