We can’t guarantee good weather in October as a Glasgow autumn is a changeable time, but we can definitely guarantee a good time! Read on to see our idea of the perfect weekend getaway in Glasgow.
Check in with our friendly staff and take a load off in one of our comfortable rooms. Tea and coffee facilities are provided so have half an hour to yourself over a hot cuppa. Next, set out to explore the local area. The Kelvingrove Hotel is in the heart of trendy Finnieston, which just nudges the edge of the West End proper. We’ve got bars, restaurants, cafes, galleries and independent shops galore, so take a wander up Argyle Street and make like a local.
Light Up the Night
Coming to Glasgow at the weekend means you can take full advantage of its nightlife. We’d recommend a top-notch meal at Six by Nico before catching a side-splitting comedy show at The Stand. Take the subway into the city centre for drinks at Arta and then boogie the night away on Club 29’s light-up dance floor.
The Morning After
Have a lie-in (you deserve it!) before sitting down to a hearty full Scottish breakfast, as well as tea and coffee on tap – which may be essential depending on how many drinks were consumed the night before! Once you’ve woken up, take a short stroll through Kelvingrove Park, stopping off at the bowling green to try your hand at lawn balls. Finally, if you’re feeling up to it, stretch your legs with a walk into the city centre and grab lunch at the fantastic Singl End en route. If you’ve got time before your train or plane, have a peek in the Lighthouse on Mitchell Lane. Art and design exhibitions change regularly there but the view from the top stay the same!
Glasgow is the perfect place to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary, or even just take a bit of you-time before the Christmas rush begins. Take advantage of our 10% deal to save yourself some money and be guided by our weekend plan to inspire what you’ll see and do on your break away.
