The Riverside Festival 2020

The Riverside Festival 2020

The Riverside Museum of Transport and travel is just a short distance from here at the Kelvingrove Hotel. A nice walk down towards the Clyde, adjacent to the beautiful Kelvingrove Park will take you straight to the Museum which is hosting its annual festival this May!

The 8th annual Riverside Festival will take place in Glasgow in 2020 on the Bank Holiday weekend of Saturday May 23rd and Sunday 24th. Scotland’s premier electronic music festival returns to the grounds of the Riverside Museum on the banks of the Clyde, bringing together a combination of some of the biggest and most cutting edge electronic artists and DJs to this unique and iconic location.

The team behind the festival have gathered a wide range of electronic music heavyweights and artists from the up and coming to the cutting edge to join them on the Clydeside for their biggest party yet, across three stages. Some of the biggest names in dance and electronica music will be there, including Floating Points, Fatima Yamaha, Amelie Lens, Ben Klock, headliners Disclosure and of course, Glasgow heavyweights Slam.

Year-on-year the festival impresses with its bookings. Previous years have had superstars such as; Nina Kraviz, legendary Groove Armada, George Fitzgerald, Jackmaster, Dennis Sulta and many more household names. Glasgow’s Riverside Festival is fast becoming one of the city’s best music events of the year.

Overall, Riverside Festival shines with regards to tech set-up and organisation and with Glasgow’s infamous crazy weather these things are seriously put to the test. At some points, when the party is in full swing, it feels almost like the audience could be revelling to anything. However, when things click, Glasgow’s appreciation of this scene becomes clear. Riverside Festival has come a long way since its spottier early days, and if it continues to expand, it has the potential to become a big player on the international stage of electronic music, matching world-class talent with the shining lights of tomorrow.
